We all know how horrible early mornings can be after a Friday late-night out, or worse pulling an all-nighter cramming for your exams. But don’t worry, we got your back! These makeup tips will help you look like you got 8 when you’re not straight! The goal:  to look fresh and awake when you step out the door.

  1. GLOWING FACE

Instead of immediately applying layers of concealer to your face to minimize dark circles, let your eyes rest a bit with refreshing gel pads from Eyes. After about 20 minutes, grab your favorite moisturizer (we MUA’s love Embryolisse) to keep your skin moisturized and super hydrated during the day. After choose a BB cream and concealer that will cover the blemishes and get rid of dark circles under your eyes. Choose a salmon shade cream concealer for a hydrated rested look. The undertone salmon will neutralize the blue in dark circles, while a green undertone concealer will help red blemishes vanish. A big tip to finish your rested look off is to give your skin that fresh glow with a hint of highlighter and a cream blush. Whatever you do, refrain from heavy contouring! This will only emphasize your sullen and dehydrated skin. Use only a dab of highlighter on your cheeks, nose, and temples and choose a natural feminine blush color such as peach or rose.

2. BRIGHT EYES

Forget the heavy smokey eye makeup! After an all-nighter less is definitely more! Use a white or gold eyeliner on the water rim, and a champagne eyeshadow at the inner corners of your eyes. With gel liner, stroke on a super thing black line tucked into your upper lashline to give your eyes that eye opening awake look. Pop your eyes even more with an eyelash curler and voluminizing mascara or natural-looking false lashes. This way your eyes will look naturally brighter and bigger, whereas tons of eyeshadow and eyeliner (especially on your lower lash line), will only make your eyes look smaller and more tired.

3. SMALL DETAILS

After the main steps are done, spend a little time with the smaller details as well, which will make your look even fresher. To make sure your lips are hydrated throughout the day, use you’re a moisturizing and perhaps tinted lip balm (I love the Vanilla Mint) or lip stain to add a pop of natural color and hydration to your look. Once your energized and refreshed makeup look is done, spritz your face with an alcohol-free makeup setting spray (my backstage fave smells of orange blossom and rose!) which will add extra moisture to your face and set your magic in place!
